Antonio Mcdyess’ game winning tip in sent the Spurs to a 41-8 NBA best record and beat the hated Lakers for the 3rd straight time in San Antonio’s 89-88 win. The Lakers now head out on a 7 game road trip while the Spurs continue their Rodeo Road Trip. I thought this was a great win for the Spurs, because the Lakers are their archrivals and the Staples Center is a hard place to play, especially as a guest. Spurs are now 1-1 on this dreaded Rodeo Road Trip. I think it is dreaded because the Spurs have to play 8 or 9 games on the road, away from the At&t Center while the stupid rodeo is in town!!!! (I’m not a fan of the rodeo.)

San Antonio, we have a problem

it’s been 20 days since the spurs were embarrassed by the Suns, and the silver stars are so far already playing like the spurs. this year the spurs committed a franchise record 1,540 turnovers. the silver stars had a franchise record 20 at home on opening night, had 15 last night in a home loss to new york and have committed 60 turnovers this year. what’s up with that? I thought san antonio was all about defense. but the silver stars keep allowing offensive rebounds, 15 last night. this is why we got jayne appell people!

Mark cuban is rediculous!

Yesterday, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who once called the river walk dirty, said yesterday that he hates the spurs. WHAT A JERK! Why would you say that?! I mean, first of all, the river walk isn’t dirty! it’s cleaned once a year! and saying that you hate the team of the decade is stupid. Ok we all hate him but this mad me madder then ever and the spurs probably heard it and the spurs will win tonight! My question to all of you is very simple: is mark Cuban a jerk and should he be fined for doing this? yes or no? results later in the blog. The spurs tonight can not lose. they know what they did wrong, they can go out tonight in front of a hostile environment and win game 2. They key is: no turnovers! the spurs this year had 178 total turnovers. they had 17 in game 1. they cannot do that tonight. In order to win, they must contain Dirk Nowitzki. 36 points on 12-14 shooting on Sunday night, they must keep him in check. don’t get me wrong about Dallas. it’s a great city, great place to live in, but i hate the mavs! ok, i hate the mavs but i love the Cowboys! The mavs owner will be fined i Guarantee that, as for when, i don’t know. but the spurs are going to make cuban wish he never said that. as t.o says, “GET YOUR POPCORN READY”!

NBA SEASON 09-10: LOS ANGLELES LAKERS

it’s been a tough summer for la fans. Trevor Ariza left the Lakers for Houston, The sparks lost in the conference finals to the mercury and more importantly, Lisa Leslie’s career is now over. but the only good news for la other then the dodgers is the Lakers are back. Kobe Bryant has looked good in preseason and the lakers are ready for 2010. now with ariza gone, Ron Artest will have to be the defensive stopper for the Lakers other then Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum. Also, Lamar Odom signed with the Lakers in late June and he should be ready for the season. The Lakers open up at home with the clippers. Then at home against Dallas and on Christmas day, Shaq, lebron and Cleveland are coming to La. look out! But the big test is when my San Antonio Spurs come to town on my birthday! Yes, the Celtics are big and of course: the NBA Finals rematch with Orlando. The Lakers probably get out to a fast start like last year and then stumble but do get back on track. Now with Ariza gone, how do the lakers match up with the spurs, the Celtics, and all those powerhouses? Well, you send me a comment/question about any team during our 09-10 team season previews at any time. my prediction and don’t get mad if you are a Lakers fan: Lose to spurs in conference finals. next up is Cleveland.

NBA 2009-2010 SEASON PREVIEW:San Antonio Spurs

They’re back! Ather a rare loss in the first round to Dallas, this year’s Spurs team is better then ever( although losing to the Clippers in preseason last night is never acceptable with me!) Thanks to the acquisition of Richard Jefferson, Dejun Blair, Antonio mcdyess, Theo Ratliff and others, the Spurs should be a title contender. Talk about the Lakers all you want but these spurs are a force to be reckoned with. The loss of Bruce Bowen does hurt but Richard Jefferson should be able to help this team win a 5th title. Manu Ginobili is back and HEALTHY! Ather missing 44 games last year, Manu is ready to play. Tim Duncan lost some pounds(i think 15) so he’s lighter and Tony Parker is back and ready for this season. my prediction: spurs win the NBA championship. our next preview is in the city of angels. No I’m not talking about the LA angels who by the way i congratulate for beating Boston, we’re talking about the Lakers.

the silver stars pregame show

back from the cold of Minneapolis, the silver stars return to the AT&T Center for a rematch of their 77-61 win over the Lynx on Friday. Hi everyone, I’m chase risman. Last night saw the silver stars get down 13-4 and 15-6 but then the defense steped up. Sophia young scored a game high 10 in the first and 21 for the game, her 33rd career 20+point game, 4th this year. they won 77-61. when we come back, it’s going to be Dillard talk.

Welcome back. now last year with the spurs Andrew Monaco mentioned something about Sean Elliot. it was at cougar school. someone said” hey we know you, you work for the spurs, very next question, can you get me Sean Elliott’s autograph? it’s time for daiilard talk. with tai dillard. what imperssed you with the defense last night?

i thought it was the foruth quarter, getting stops and holding them scorless for about 6 minutes.

now tonight could diffrent then last night. the reslut may not change but the outcome will. what do think?

i think silver stars by 7.

welcome back to the at&t center. our impact player of the game is becky hammon: season high 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assits. becky, how important was it to get out to a great start?

bh: very important, because we wanted to get .500 so bad.

you guys had a 24-7 lead and then the monarchs came back at you.

bh: they have the worst record in the west but they got nothing to lose.

thanks becky. she will get dinner at mortans the stake house. final numbers: the vistors from Sacremnto were led by damya walker 12 points, 8 for tecia penichero and baga. 6 for robinson. 5 for laura harper, 3 for kara lawson and 2 for nicole powell. the silver stars were led by Becky Hammon: season high 26 points, 7-15 from the floor, sophia young a double double: 17 points and 10 rebounds. also 7-15. 7 edwige lawson wade, 4 each for johnson and mattra. and 2 fro ruth riley. It’s time for the ask the coach segement. tonight it’s with olaf lange. olaf, what got everyone to hit some shots elary on?

ol: they got open looks and knocked em down. that’s what great teams do.

sacremnto not a good team this year. do think they sould consider firing jenny boucek for this 1-6 start?

ol: absolutley yes because they will be 1-7 by the time they lose to detirot on sunday. but hey they are althetic and as tai said before the game, i don’t see us losing to the worst in the west.

Toyota halftime report

It’s deja vu all over again for the silver stars and monarchs. It’s a remtach of their last 2 playoff mettings, the silver stars lead 33-25 at the half. Hi everyone, i’m Chase Risman. the last 2 years, the silver stars have met the monarchs in the first round of the playoffs. both times the stars won the series. both in 3 games. we take a look back at those matchups.

in 2007 the monarchs took game 1 by 21, but lost by 23 in game 2 in texas. and in game 3, after blowing a 20 point lead, the stars becky hammon found vikke johnson for a game wining layup to win the series 80-78. In 2008, becky hammon scored 30 in game 1 to seal an 85-78 win. in game 2 though sacremnto whould win 84-67. but game 3 was all about sophia young: 27 points, 8 rebounds. and an 86-81 win.

that was great. coming up we wizz around the wnba.
